What to Expect at Target in April (90% off Easter, Car Seat Trade-in & more)

3/31/21

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

At the beginning of each month I give you a glimpse at the deals and happenings that you may find at Target each month.   Here are the things can you can expect to find at Target for the month of April.

Easter Clearance – The Easter clearance will go as low as 90% off this month, with candy and food items being marked down to 70% off.   I’ve listed a general schedule of when the Easter items have been marked down in the past.   Keep in mind that clearance times will vary from store to store and even from year to year, so the dates I have listed are just a guess.  The Easter clearance should include the Easter items from the Target Dollar Spot.

  • 50% off (30% off food) – 1 day after Easter – Monday, April 5th
  • 70% off (50% off food) – 3-4 days after Easter – possibly 7th or 8th
  • 90% off (70% off food) – 6-7 days after Easter – possibly April 10h or 11th

Target Car Seat Trade In Event – Target will be hosting another Target Car Seat Trade-In Event this month. Starting April 5 – April 17th, bring in your old car seat or base and you’ll receive 20% off Circle coupon good on their next car seat, stroller or select baby gear purchase. This year, you will be able to redeem your coupon right after the event starts. Your coupon will be valid at Target or online at Target.com.

Favorite Day – Target will be releasing a sweet new food and beverage brand called Favorite Day. Many of these yummy items will start to show up in your store starting on April 5th. This brand will carry over 700 delicious items including snacks, bakery items, mocktails and so much more!

New Dollar Spot – New items in Bullseye’s Playground are supposed to be released on April 4th, my store already had a few of the items stocked.  There are lots of bright fun colors for summer.  Most stores should have these items around April 4th or within a week or so after.  Stocking of the Dollar Spot really varies from store to store.

I forgot to mention that for someone on a really strict budget, being able to fill your cart with hundreds of dollars of products and pay just a few bucks is soooo much fun!

I was so bummed that there was almost nothing but candy in Easter clearance. They said they sold out of eggs and baskets Friday. Oh well. The M&M coupons made them a deal and we always get the rest of the fruit snacks $1.39 for 18 packs.

My Target took EVERYTHING from the Easter clearance in carts and sorted it in the back. It was weird, but they slowly brought things out one cart at a time. It took awhile, but my daughter found good stuff. She’s 4 and I have her trained for clearance shopping. She grabs something, runs it over to the scanner and asks “is that a lot?”

I’m very curious on how much Easter merchandise will be left. I was so disappointed after Valentine’s Day. I went the day after and the shelves were already stripped down and all that was left was one small shelf of clearance! I’m wondering, because of their partnership with Goodwill Industries, if the majority of their clearance merchandise is now going to them??!

I wonder the same because I headed to Target this morning and there was NO Easter clearance at all! Everything was gone. It’s never been like that before.
