Summer is officially here! Before you know it we will be celebrating the 4th of July with family and friends. We’ve got a quick, easy and festive treat that will be fun for your 4th of July celebration. I’m sure they will be a big hit with the kids in your family.
These festive treats are made with Kellogg’s Rice Krispies with Red & Blue Krispies. Here is everything you need to makes these treats.
Rice Krispies 4th of July Treats
- 9 cups Kellogg’s Rice Krispies with Red & Blue Krispies
- 6 TBSP Butter
- 6 cups mini marshmallows
For decorating:
- Straws or lollipop sticks (I like to use straws for a more festive look, just cut them in half)
- Candy melts
- Sprinkles
In a bowl, add butter and marshmallow and microwave at 1 minute intervals until melted and smooth. Pour over Rice Krispies and stir until well combined. Spray 9 x 13 pan with cooking spray and press down the Rice Krispies mixture into the pan. Let them cool for at least 30 minutes.
Gently remove treats from pan and place on a cutting board. Cut treats into 1.5 x 1 inch cubes or 1.5 circles using a cookie cutter. Add sticks on the top of each treat. I love using the straws because they make straws in so many festive designs now. Just cut the straws in half before placing in each treat. You should be able to find some festive straws for the 4th of July in the Target Dollar Spot.
Melt candy melts in microwave in 30 second intervals until nice and smooth. Dip Rice Krispie pops into melted candy and add sprinkles. Place on parchment paper to set. Enjoy!
