Patriotic Rice Krispies Kabobs

With Memorial Day weekend coming it usually means it’s time to break out the grill and have the first BBQ of the season. We love to serve fun finger foods at our BBQs. These cute Patriotic Rice Krispies Kabobs are perfect for your Memorial Day (or even 4th of July) feast. Even better, now is a great time to stock up on Kellogg’s Rice Krispies because all cereals are buy 3, get the 4th free at Target through May 26th.

Here is what you need to make these Patriotic Rice Krispies Kabobs

3 Tbsp butter
4 cups mini marshmellows
6 cup Kellogg’s Rice Krispies cereal
1 cup blueberries
12 small/medium size strawberries
wooden skewers

Make the Rice Krispies Treats according to package directions or from their website. I love using the microwave method, because it’s so quick and easy. Add the mixture to a 9×13 pan prepped with non cooking spray and press down firmly. Chill for 30 minutes. With a star cookie cutter, cut out star shapes to use on your kabobs.

To assemble push strawberry onto stick, then a few blueberries, and for the final step add the star shaped Rice Krispies Treat. Place on platter and serve.

Here’s a tip! If you find that your strawberry won’t stay in place, slide a mini marshmallow on the skewer just under the base of the strawberry, it will easily hold everything in place!
