My Weekly Target Shopping Trip (Spent $7, Saved $38 + Earned $5 gift card)

2/20/13

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

Here is my Target shopping trip for the week.   I spent $7.85 and saved $38.67.   Plus, I also earned a $5 Target gift card to spend later.    If you factor in the gift card I got back that I can use like cash later, it’s as if I paid $2.85 for everything.    Happiness!

(1) $1/3 Target printable coupon
(4) $1.25/1 Peantu Butter Toast Crunch Cereal no longer available

Pay = $5.75
Get $5 Target gift card
Final Price = $ .15 each after you factor in gift card

    I am new to this and tried to get the ketchup, but the cashier would not let me because the coupon value exceeded the price. Should I have argued, or was she right?

      You should have been able to use the coupon. Their policy says they will adjust the coupon down if necessary and that is what they should have done in this situation. Sometimes the cashiers at totally informed on the coupon policy. You can view the policy here (you may want to print it out as a reference next time you checkout):

    The Ketchup at the Target in Morrow, GA was $2.49. The coupon stated 38 0z or larger .ut they only had 32, and 34 oz. Where did you find the ketchup less than$2.00?
    They didnt carry the Peanut Butter Toast Crunch Cereal!

    Also, could not find the Robitussin for less than $4.48 for 4oz. They did not have the 1 oz in the travel section either. Please advise what is it with this store.

    Thanks,
