My Weekly Target Shopping Trip: Spent $5, Saved $15

9/7/12

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

Here is what I picked up at Target today, I spent $5.08, and saved $15.42.   Here are the match-ups for the items I bought, all the remaining items were from the dollar spot at 70% off (I will share close-ups and what I plan to do with them).

Up & Up Ibuprofen (24 ct) $ .99
$1/1 Target printable coupon   this coupon is no longer available
Final Price = FREE

Hershey’s Simple Pleasures $2.99
$1/1 Target printable coupon
$2/1 coupon from 8/19 SmartSource insert
Final Price = FREE

Juicy Juice Fruitfuls $2.25 ~ Buy 2
$1/2 Target printable coupon
(2) $1/1 printable coupon
Final Price = $ .75 each

Below are the items I picked up from the 70% off pink dot section in the dollar spot, these were all $ .30 each. Fun!!

I’ve mentioned before that I have a weakness for the cute baskets in the dollar spot, mainly because they make such cute gifts. When I saw that the orange basket has a matching notepad, well I got a little bit excited. I also bought the yellow note cards for quick thank you cards or happy birthday cards. I plan to add some mandarin goodies from Bath & Body Works to the basket with the notepad to make a nice little gift.

The Avengers coloring kit and flash cards will go in my son’s stocking for Christmas.

The Koosh balls and Avenger pencils are going in birthday party treat bags.

The magnetic strip will go above my daughters desk, so she can hang notes.   I am guessing she will be thrilled, I love when a $ .30 item can make your kid happy!

A couple more boxes, because besides my weakness for these cute boxes, I also love anything with polka dots. Plus, the cute bird one was saying “take me home, I am cute, and I am only $ .30”. So I did!

I would love to hear what you picked up this week, especially any of the great 70% off deals you found in the dollar spot.

I was just at Target this morning (in CA) and none of the dollar spot items were on clearance at all. I have my eye on a few things, so I’ll have to keep checking back!

Mine didn’t have a sign up- so I checked at a self scanner and was thrilled a couple of days ago at 50% off- I told a number of mommies around who were shopping and we headed off to stock up on stocking stuffers. Thanks for the heads up

        Hi Julie,
Which city do you live in. Mine was the same as well.

Greensboro NC is at 70% pink dot today! My weakness is gift bags — got ‘several.’ Also LOVE the ceramic pink piggy banks! Bought 3 — great for part of a baby gift and only 30 cents each!

Why oh why are the aisles so narrow in this dollar area?! Difficult to navigate, but I made it through alive. (smile) Glad the kids weren’t with me.

I went to the Riveriew, FL store today and they had the stuff marked as 50% off, but it rang up at 70% off. I bought a back scratcher that my son loves! More of the chocolate filled panda cookies, some post it notes and bookmarks for his teacher, oh and I bought him sandals for $6.58′ originally $21.99; 70% off. I have my eye on some pink heels, they are 50% off now, will keep checking. Barbies and Yankee Candles were not marked down in that store.

I picked up 8 of the accordion files, I use those for my coupons, all for .30 ea. Then I picked up some of the pink metal mesh bins they were .75 ea. I loved those and will use them for my daughters small toys and bath duckies!!

Target wouldn’t honor my $1 coupon on the UP & Up Ibuprofen 24 ct. It beeped and she said no deal on the “trial” size. I didn’t know there was such a thing as “trial-sized” Advil!
