Fruity Pebbles Mini Holiday Houses

12/20/18

We may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.

One of our family traditions is making and decorating gingerbread houses, but this year I decided to switch things up a little, we use Post Fruity Pebbles to make Fruity Pebbles treats and use them as the base for our houses.  I love how they are bright and colorful.  The best part is the houses were super sturdy, so my youngest had no problem decorating his own house.

Here is what you need to make your own Fruity Pebbles Mini Holiday Houses.  You can pick up Fruity Pebbles at Target this week and save (Cartwheel info will go here w/ link)

Fruity Pebbles Mini Houses: (makes about 4)

  • 8 cups Post Fruity Pebbles cereal
  • 6 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup melted butter

Decorating:

  • Decorator icing (I bought a ready to use bag, sometimes I like to keep things simple)
  • Assorted candy
  • Graham crackers (for roof)
  • Coconut
  • Chocolate bar (for door)

In bowl, microwave butter 30-45 seconds, or until melted.   Add marshmallows and microwave for 1 1/2 minutes or until completely melted, stir until mixture is smooth.   Add Post Fruity Pebbles cereal and stir until everything is mixed together well.  Press firmly into a foil lined and greased 9×9 pan.   It will fill the pan to the top.

Place in refrigerator for 30 minutes to make it easy to cut out the houses.  Remove from pan.  I used a template to make sure all the houses were the same shape, I cut out a house shape using wax paper and placed it on Fruity Pebbles.  Using a knife cut out shape of houses.  My houses were 3 inches across and about 2 inch deep.

To assemble houses, use icing to secure graham crackers to that top to make a roof.   Add a piece of chocolate for the door.  The rest is up to you to be creative and have fun.  Enjoy!

Because the houses are solid, it makes them super stable so you don’t have to worry about the houses falling apart.  Kids can just enjoy decorating!   This is such a fun family activity.

You can save on Fruity Pebbles and Cocoa Pebbles at Target with the 20% off Cartwheel offer.  The Cocoa Pebbles would work great for these littles houses too.  Cartwheel offer is valid through December 22nd.
